ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES
Every year, an announcement for the admission of postgraduate students to the MSc program is published and posted on the websites of the MSc program and the Institution. The Department Assembly, following a recommendation from the Coordinating Committee, decides on the publication date in the press, at least two months before the start of classes. This announcement invites interested candidates to apply for positions in the MSc program for the current academic year and specifies the necessary qualifications for admission, the deadline for submitting supporting documents, the general evaluation procedure for candidates, and the address for submission of documents.
Applications are submitted electronically.
It is possible, by decision of the Department Assembly following a recommendation from the Coordinating Committee, for the announcement to be made before the winter or spring semester, or twice per year. Student admission will take place in the corresponding semester of the announcement, and students will attend the courses offered in that semester.
The required supporting documents are:
- Application
- A detailed curriculum vitae (CV).
- An official copy of the Degree or Diploma, or a certificate confirming that the candidate has fulfilled their academic requirements.
- A certified Transcript of Records (including the exact Grade Point Average).
- Scientific publications, awards, and proof of research activity (if applicable).
- Proof of professional experience (if applicable).
- Additional qualifications (letters of recommendation, specialized seminars, studies, postgraduate degrees, supplementary education certificates, etc.).
- A copy of the identity card or other official identification document.
- A necessary requirement is proficiency in the English language. Adequate knowledge can be demonstrated by one of the following means:
a) A degree from an educational institution in an English-speaking country or from an English-taught program.
b) A State Certificate of Language Proficiency at level B2.
In case the above requirements are not met, candidates will be evaluated
by the Evaluation Committee, in order to assess their ability to comprehend and write in
English language.
The evaluation of candidates and the selection of admitted students is based on the total score (on a scale of 1–100) according to the following criteria:
| A/A | Selection Criteria | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Degree/Diploma grade | Up to 20 |
| 2 | Professional experience | Years of employment x 1 (general experience),
Years of employment x 2 (if relevant to the field of the program) MSc program) up to 10 |
| 3 | English language proficiency | up to 10, when accompanied by the appropriate certification acquisition of a relevant certificate |

- Assess the candidate’s overall scientific background and their suitability for attending the MSc program.
- Highlight specific qualifications, as well as other characteristics and activities of the candidate.
- Identify any potential difficulties the candidate may have in consistently attending courses and fulfilling other obligations in the MSc program.
Based on the overall criteria, the Assembly compiles and approves the evaluation list of the students.
Based on the total score each candidate has accumulated, the Evaluation Committee prepares a ranking list of the candidates. In the event that two or more candidates achieve the same total score, all candidates with equal scores will be admitted.
An appeal against the list of successful candidates may be submitted within five (5) working days from the date of the announcement of the lists. The appeal, which must be specific, is considered final.
